Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.
Gladys Browyn Stern
For those who don’t care for turkey, how about a more unique fine feathered friend?
While cozying with my daughter in bed this evening, she mused, “I must have done something good in my past life to have the family that I have today.” How did she get so wise, so young? I tell her everyday how lucky I am to have her and my thoughts meander to how richly blessed I am by the women who generously share their beauty and stories here, by blog readers who add sunshine to my days with happy comments, by family, friends and clients who support and inspire me in countless ways. Your praise and appreciation for my art feeds my soul and warms my heart! THANK YOU deeply, truly, sweetly!

p.s. Extra special thanks to a most thoughtful blog fan, Mountain, who shared this poem of gratitude. They say when you see “Anonymous” or “Author Unknown,” it usually means a woman wrote it. (And as my daughter likes to add with the drama of suspense learned from mystery theater, “OR IS IT?!”)
Be thankful you don’t already have all that you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

I love to look at someone in a photograph that looks so good and at ease being photographed. This Goddess is the picture (pardon the pun) of what I just described. She looks like fun…get your mind back up here! I mean her warm and gentle features look like happiness, someone that you couldn’t help but smile at. And yes! very sexy too…
Sharky, you must be tired and weary each day. Thank you!

Yes, her smile is contagious! It was great pleasure capturing the happy heart of this Goddess. We had not met each other before this shoot so she and I had many giggles about how “camera shy” she is.

Oh my goodness I am so happy to come upon this spread! I didn’t realize it was here. I really appreciate the comments from Mountain and Sharkey about these photos and my look of ease and happiness while posing for them!
Indeed it was a wonderful experience that made me feel sexy at a time when I felt “well past my prime” 😉 Sharkey and I hit it off famously and where instant sisters with the same spirited nature.
I am so grateful for this experience. I also really love the poem up above about living life with gratitude and appreciating the challenges that we face as necessary blessings for our journey of self-discovery and growth.
Love you Sharkey! xo

Awwww, you’re too sweet, Z!
It’s great to hear from you here since it looks like the email I sent telling you about this post went MIA?
Thanks so much for the love and blessing!

Hello again … First of all, I apologize for spelling Sharky incorrectly in my above post! Secondly, I just now did a search throughout my emails to find something from you and sure enough there were a couple from you that I simply did not read because I was traveling, working, then caught the flu :p
I adore you and am again so grateful for this self-esteem building experience. You definitely have a gift with your photography and beautiful way of expressing yourself!
